This term, November the 16, 2016 we had a festival about culture, It started with a bang as  2 performances started the great event, there was the IPU drummers all the way from Japan and a dance from csns, room 5. 

We then had 30 minutes to set up our stalls, the activities and the system of of the stalls manager. My group of two out of the six had 20 minutes to manage the stall and 40 minutes to look at other stalls. The purpose of our stall was to convince people to respect others cultures so they wouldn't judge them by their culture.

You could help by respecting other people's cultures and making them feel comfortable in the  different environment around other cultures.

Early in term 3

This term we are learning about the environment. In week 1 we built a shelter for animals with four legs, we could only use  three objects and tools (example hammer), my group and I used a wood pellet , a milk bottle and a piece of bubble wrap and tools. At the end we shared our shelters with the rest of the class, once that was done we did a scale drawing here is our model of our shelter.

This term I managed to get into the  Mathex team a team of mathematicians that go to a math competition in New Zealand, Palmerston North we’ve got a A and a B team for year 6 and A,B and a C team for year five. We go on the 12 of August.

We started working up our matrix and voted for a name for our unit (environmental investigators). Next we Created  our indicators for the habit of mind matrix and graphic designs for all the habits of mind, mine was applying past knowledge.
